Here are a couple of photos from the 2008 Harry Whitney camps. Two different horses by the way. The first is a beautiful warmblood mare who had a really strong sense of self-preservation. If you notice, there is no tautness to the the line between her and Harry. He is allowing her to move her feet, it just happens that they were feet off the ground. This year, I suspect this horse to be in a much better place. The owner had just gotten this mare and has been really working with her to improve her mind and physical well being. She could not have a better home!
The second photo is Harry with the clinic host's mare, a POA. Harry use to be a rodeo clown and that side of him tends to show up on a frequent basis. The POA's owner is a diminutive woman in stature only and I think someone had asked Harry about being effective due to a person's size. Here Harry is showing that size does not matter! We all had a good chuckle over this one.
