Here is a graphite pencil sketch I did. The hands belong to Harry Whitney. He had a dally (rope around the saddle horn) as he worked another horse in the rounpen off of his horse. He makes holding rope reins and a rope to a horse look so easy!
I am currently working on a charcoal sketch of a PMU mare being worked at liberty in the round pen. Today is a good day to be inside and do art. We've had snow flurries this morning and it is only in the 30's today. Can you believe it is Easter weekend and there is snow? I have been busy removing shedding hair from all the horses and I bet they wished they had a bit of it back right now!
